Tips: The differences between NPT connection and flanged connection
NPT (National Pipe Tapered) connection uses tapered threads along with sealant tape or sealant to create a seal, making them suitable for medium and small diameter pipes. They are easy to install and cost-effective but can be challenging to maintain and may not offer reliable sealing under extremely high pressure and temperature conditions.
Flanged connection involves bolting two flanges together with a sealing gasket in between, making them ideal for large diameter pipes and applications involving high pressure and temperature. They provide superior sealing and easier maintenance but are more complex to install, have higher costs, and require more space.
