Tips: Sliding Vane Pump Troubleshooting
- Inspect for Leakage. Check for any signs of leakage around the pump, including at the pump’s inlet and outlet connections, as well as at the seal or gasket areas. Leakage can result from worn vanes, damaged seals, or loose connections. If there is leakage, replace worn vanes, damaged seals, or tighten loose connections.
- Check for Cavitation. Cavitation occurs when the pump’s suction pressure is too low, causing the formation of vapor bubbles in the liquid being pumped. This can result in reduced pump performance and damage to the pump’s vanes.
